The fifth R, taken literally.
Reckon. is built on a cycle of five steps: recognize, reckon, refine, reflect, run. Run is the last one. Going. In motion. Sharp. We thought we may as well take it literally, on a Sunday morning, with anyone who's also building something. Ideas accelerate when you run together. Out of the building, out of the inbox, out of your own head.
We meet outside Reckon. Works HQ at the Apparatenfabriek at nine on Sunday morning. We loop out of Strijp-S into Philips de Jongh Park, about 5 to 8 km. Coffee at the office after. You leave when you feel like leaving.
Founders, creatives, engineers, and the quietly curious.
If you're building something, you're welcome. Founders thinking about a hard week ahead. Designers, writers, and engineers between projects. Operators tired of reading about AI and ready to talk to people actually using it. People who quietly suspect they should know more about this stuff but don't know who to ask.
Beginners are welcome on every front. New to running, new to AI, new to Eindhoven, new to all three. The whole format is designed so you can show up alone and not feel alone by the end.
- Pace. Conversational. Roughly 6:00 to 7:00 per kilometre. Inclusive but actually running, not strolling. We wait for whoever needs us to.
- Distance. Around 5 to 8 km. We pick the route on the day, depending on the weather and the group.
- Talking. What you're working on, what's stuck, what you're trying with AI, what you've quietly given up on. Ideas accelerate when you're moving. No pitches, no decks.
- Coffee. Back at the office. Stay for ten minutes or stay for an hour.
- Cost. Nothing. Bring yourself.
Show up, that's the whole thing.
Meet at Reckon. Works HQ in the Apparatenfabriek on Strijp-S at 08:55 for a 09:00 start. We leave on time so the run finishes in time for coffee. If it's pouring, we still go; if there's ice on the ground, we swap to a walk and a longer coffee.
Join the WhatsApp group. That's how the next date and any last-minute changes go out. The Strava club is the public side of the same thing. We'd rather know you're coming so we can wait for you at the start.
Join the club. See the next run.
Public Strava club for the route dates. WhatsApp group for the next run, the weather call, and the people coming along. Lurking is welcome on both.
